Visit from the English/Scottish Australians – Sept 2017

Following their “European Tour”, Steve, Allie, Iona and Esme made a flying stopover in the UK. As well as a “Scottish Tour” they included a four day “Carshalton Beeches Tour” together with time spent in Littlehampton and area.

Time flew – a great few days all together and how special it was to see Steve here after last year. Steve and Allie you have two very special daughters – and it was fabulous to meet them properly and introduce them to their UK based Cousins, Evie, James and Rory. James was, I think, delighted all the girls could play football – I bet he was thinking “ugh more girls!” So more Southern vs Northern Hemisphere opportunities and challenges in the coming years!! Jodie took it all in her stride – at 13 1/2 she’s seen it, done it and loves it all.

We managed a lot, whilst never stopping the chatter!! Lunch on the patio on the Friday was a plus so warm !! Followed by a surprise visit to Benihana’s in Piccadilly – fun Japanese cuisine which more of the family have already experienced. A walk around Buckingham Palace and St James Park, plus a rendition of “The Grand Old Duke of York” at which the younger members looked askance!! Iona and Esme – something you need to know about your Parents, Aunts n’ Uncles – it is our job to embarrass you – sorry!!! Saturday, altho’ a bit grey saw, Hayley, Evie, Mark, Anna, James and Rory join us all for breakfast, lunch, football, dog walking, a couple of glasses or so, “catch ups” and “getting to know you” time – made for a really enjoyable Day. Sunday off to the South Coast to meet more family but unfortunately we couldn’t join them.

Hope you all enjoy some of the pictures from those few days- John and I will remember it for a long time – hope you do too. We await further get togethers – here or in Oz – one way or another!!
